What We Install
- Sod — fresh-cut bermuda, zoysia, or fescue laid over properly prepared soil with grading and starter fertilizer
- Planting beds — new beds cut, edged, amended, planted, and mulched in one visit
- Shrubs & perennials — foundation plantings, screening hedges, color borders, native pollinator beds
- Trees — shade trees, ornamental trees, fruit trees, evergreens. Sized 1.5″ to 3″ caliper for most projects.
- Annual color rotations — spring/summer/fall changeouts for commercial entries and HOA monuments
- Replacement plantings — replacing dead/dying plants without disturbing surrounding healthy material
Site Prep Matters More Than the Plant
You can put the best $200 tree in compacted clay and it will be dead in two years. We bring in topsoil where needed, break up subsoil, amend with compost for tight clay, and grade beds to drain. The hole is twice the width of the root ball but no deeper. Roots scored if pot-bound. Mulched but never piled against the trunk. Watered in deeply.
Sod Installation Done Right
Bermuda for sunny lawns, zoysia for medium shade tolerance, tall fescue for shadier yards. Soil is tilled, leveled, and starter fertilizer applied before the sod goes down. We roll the sod to ensure good soil contact, water it in thoroughly, and give you a watering schedule. Most failures come from skipped prep and bad watering in the first three weeks.
Timing in West Tennessee
- Spring (Mar–May) — ideal for most installations; warm soil, regular rain, long growing season ahead
- Summer (Jun–Aug) — OK for established varieties with diligent watering; avoid bare-root planting
- Fall (Sep–Nov) — the best season for trees and shrubs; roots establish before next summer’s heat
- Winter (Dec–Feb) — dormant planting of bare-root trees, hardscape work, design planning for spring
Establishment — The First 90 Days
What you do in the first three months determines whether the plant survives. We leave a watering schedule, check in at 30 days, and warranty plant material on installs we’ve also designed. Most failures are watering failures — either drowned or dried.
How We Price Professional Landscaping Installation
By the project. We measure square footage for sod, count plants by size, and bid hardscape separately. Multi-phase or large installs may include phasing pricing. Here’s how our quotes work.
